What is a Griddle? What Types of Griddles?

The flat top griddle is made of stone, brick or metal. Most models use charcoal or gas.

A Brief History of the Griddle

Ancient people all over the world used a griddle to cook meals that required a flat surface. In Latin America, the first griddle was used to make tortillas and tortillas (a thick tortilla). In Scotland, there is a belt: a flat disc hung over an open flame and used to make scones, pancakes, and oatcakes. Modern griddle is made of metal, usually steel or iron. Restaurants use them first because of their even heat distribution and flat surfaces. This is the most effective way to cook battered dishes, such as pancakes, rather than food falling from the grate. Seafood establishments prefer flat tops, because exposure to the open flame of the grill will ruin some dishes.
